In Germany, about 40 redox flow batteries are currently in operation. Most of them are still serving science to further research and optimize their performance. Admittedly, it is not easy to evaluate redox flow batteries in this context from a chemical point of view (from the perspective of materials science) on the one hand, and from the perspective of engineering science and ultimately also of a future business market on the other.
