CELEST at Hannover Messe 2026

CELEST looks back on a successful week at Hannover Messe 2026, where researchers and representatives engaged with industry leaders, policymakers, and international stakeholders to discuss the future of battery and hydrogen technologies.

From the opening day onwards, the CELEST team welcomed a steady stream of visitors to its booth in Hall 12, E63. The exhibition provided an excellent platform for exchanging ideas, exploring new cooperation opportunities, and presenting CELEST’s diverse research and innovation activities. Among the many visitors were international delegations, including guests from China, who learned more about CELEST’s work across the fields of energy storage, hydrogen technologies, qualification and training, and knowledge transfer including the Cluster of Excellence POLiS and the EES Academy.

A highlight of the week was the event INNO-HyBat: Battery and Hydrogen Technologies, organised in cooperation with Niedersachsen.next and TraWeBa. The event brought together experts from science and industry to discuss current developments and future trends shaping the energy sector. Presentations and discussions covered topics such as AI-driven energy systems, automated battery disassembly processes, hydrogen safety, and next-generation battery materials. The event underscored both the rapid pace of technological innovation and the importance of collaboration across sectors to accelerate the energy transition.

Throughout the five-day trade fair, CELEST engaged in numerous discussions with researchers, industry representatives, and decision-makers from around the world. The team was particularly pleased to welcome international delegations from Brazil and Catalonia, reflecting the growing global interest in sustainable energy technologies and the value of cross-border cooperation.
