Innovation & Transfer
CELEST initiatives in the field of transfer range from organizing industry workshops, facilitating industry visits to on-site training programs to further enhance the skills of industry partner employees. CELEST also provides support for patent applications and spinoffs and actively offers training to nurture young researchers for thriving industry careers. Technology Transfer promotes communication and networking, thus ensuring greater transparency and knowledge exchange and acting as an interface to industrial research and development. The continuous expansion of a network, which works closely with our researcher, is intended to contribute to innovative ideas and demand- and application-oriented research at an early stage.
Technology Transfer Measures
Conferences and Trade Fairs
Participation and presentation of the research platform CELEST and the Cluster of Excellence POLiS at conferences and trade fairs to disseminate scientific results and expand the scientific and industrial network.
Production Process Research
Development and operation of a research plant infrastructure for battery cell production at various scaling levels from manual laboratory cell production to a fully automated pilot line. The plant technology in the Karlsruhe Research Factory, the KIT Battery Technology Center and the ZSW Powder-Up! pilot plant offer the opportunity to test industrial materials for prototype campaigns. In addition, specialists can be trained in handson-workshops on real systems.
Supporting Spin-Offs
Supporting researchers with spin-offs: Litona GmbH is one such example – a start-up scaling up and producing sodium-ion batteries with Prussian White cathode materials, aimed at strengthening Europe’s resilience in the battery supply chain.
Workshops and Industry Visits
Platforms for the presentation of innovative research results are created as part of various industry workshops, such as „Emerging Technologies – From Research to Manufacturing“ and „New Generations – Batteries and Talents“. Regular workshops and industry visits are being organized in close collaboration with the EES Academy.
