CELEST Circular Economy Recycling Lab
The CERL project (CELEST Circular Economy Recycling Lab) is creating a research infrastructure for closed material cycles in battery technology. The aim is to develop innovative recycling processes for lithium and post-lithium systems so that materials can be efficiently recovered at the end of their life cycle and reused in batteries. In the future, the knowledge gained will also be used to research ‘design for circularity’ approaches – i.e. battery concepts that are designed for recyclability from the outset.
